We're partial to good food here in North Wales.
It's a big part of our culture.

Hospitality & Food

We've juicy grassland and a perfect climate for growing things. Which could explain why our Welsh Black beef and salt marsh lamb are world renowned. Our seafood's a big hit, too. Our sea-bass, lobster, mussels and oysters are on all the best menus.

Rustle something up yourself. There are plenty of quality ingredients to pick up. Try Maldwyn Thomas' organic lamb and mutton from his farm in Bala. Or Edwards' of Conwy's famous (and award-winning) sausages. Talking of award winners, Margaret Davies' Gorau Glas cheese is one. She stumbled into cheese making by accident. Try a drop of Tom Barlow's wine from his vineyard in Cemaes Bay. It's only right. Anglesey was producing wine when the Romans were here.

Or leave the hard work to someone else. Local ingredients are big news here. And the most reliable sign of good food is that the locals are eating there too. You might even discover something you'll want to keep to yourself.

Food and drink fairs are a regular thing here. Festivals and markets take place throughout the year all over the place. You can taste the produce. And see how the professionals do it. Conwy Feast has over 50 food and drink stalls within the town walls. Or down a few ales and enjoy the entertainment at the Anglesey Beer Festival, the Mold Food Festival or the Lln Seafood Festival.

North Wales is a great place to relax and unwind after a good feed. You name it, we have it. Hillside cottages. Boutique hotels. Tents.
